Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her early performances on Broadway include in the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across the stage, film and TV and she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford returns to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the middle of the country's First Impeachment Proceedings in Over an Century. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first major role. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Some other Broadway roles for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford, who was brought up in Denver is now based in Los Angeles and New York.
